Advanced Summer Camp

The Advanced Sailing Camp is a five-day course designed to cover RYA Stage 4 alongside at least one RYA Advanced Module. Depending on the experience and progression of the group, sailors may work towards modules such as Sailing with Spinnakers, Day Sailing or Seamanship Skills.

Our instructors will tailor the programme to the sailors attending, ensuring everyone is challenged at the right level. Where there are enough Stage 4 sailors, we may split into an advanced group to allow more focused coaching. The exact modules delivered will therefore depend on the experience and numbers within the group.

It's a fantastic opportunity for sailors to develop their skills, build confidence and discover what these boats are really capable of—all while having plenty of fun on the water.

Course Content

Our RYA Advanced Sailing Camp will push your child's sailing skills further, and they will gain a toolkit of skills to keep them safe and fast on the water. By the end of the course, they will have looked at advanced techniques, worked as a helm and crew in the boat, and understood good communication and teamwork. They will also be involved in deciding which advanced advanced should be covered.

The Advanced Camp will give the sailors a good understanding of two-person boats and help them become confident. We will also examine more progressive skills on the water, such as Man Overboard, Sailing Backwards, coming alongside a moored boat, and dy capsize.

Family
Courses

We offer both adult and junior courses, but sometimes it's nice to learn as a family. We offer the RYA Level 1 course for those looking for this option. Due to the adult syllabus, some younger sailors may struggle to complete all skills, but will still enjoy the course.
